Why We Built RAISE
RAISE Global Health was created to help global health reflect the values it stands for: equity, justice, and care.
Across countries, institutions, and communities, we’ve worked alongside people who care deeply about building better systems. We’ve also seen how hard it can be to bring values into everyday work. Not because people don’t care, but because it’s complicated. Working inside of systems is messy, power is often centralized, and there’s rarely time to slow down and reflect.
RAISE is here to support those teams who share these values. We work alongside teams to make sense of the complexity, ensure their work reflects their purpose, and build programs that reflect both technical insight and lived experience.

We help partners hold the whole story, building programs that respond to real life by considering the conditions people are living in, not just the care they receive.
Experience is expertise.
We research, build strategies, and evaluate work and that starts from lived experience. We view this knowledge not as an input, but as a guide.
Equity lives in the details.
We look closely at how decisions get made, who’s included, and what participation really looks like. We know that small choices shape outcomes.
Values need practice.
We help teams stay in touch with their values throughout the life of a project. That takes tools, reflection, and guidance from partners who are open to shared accountability

We help our partners ask better questions and help translate across these worlds. That ability to navigate complex dynamics makes us a trusted partner in moments that call for both clarity and care.
RAISE often serves as a connective tissue between grassroots activism and institutional power. We support our partners in doing work that reflects their deepest values, even when the systems they’re working within make that hard. And we stay with them through the process. We are not just designing a path, but supporting as we walk together.
